Over a year ago now I received an inquiry that was probably the most exciting one I had received to date. A wedding photographer wanted me to photograph her wedding? Really? What a huge honor! And you know a little pressure.
Over the last year I have gotten to know Katie as I photographed her and her fiance’s engagement session in Fort Collins, and many facebook chats about photography/wedding planning/life. So without a doubt I was thrilled for this wedding to finally get here. I can’t wait to share Katie & Nate’s wedding story with you over the next couple of days. We are kicking things off with two of my favorite times….getting ready for the wedding and the First Look. I love this time of anticipation, love and joy.
Thank you Katie and Nate for asking me to photograph your special day! Being a part of your wedding and seeing your love has blessed me far more than I could have imagined!

Can I just say that I loved Katie’s bridesmaids!

Bedazzled shoes! Those are my kinda shoes!![]()

I loved this shot of Katie and her grandma with her dress hanging in the background. Nostalgic.

I have never seen a bride with such joy when she put on her gown. Seriously Katie you were RADIANT!

While we were having all kinds of fun, Sarah was over with Nate and the guys getting some fun shots!

Keeping Katie and Nate’s dog Charlie entertained. She had a role in the ceremony.
She is adorable and alot like my chocolate lab.

I really liked this shot.

So the Bride and Groom decided to do something very unique that I absolutely loved. After they got engaged they never shared their version of the proposal story. So each of them wrote it down and came up with creative ways to share it with each other.

It was a special, reflective and emotional time as you can see from the photos below. Oh and Nate was reading his letter to katie via iPod shuffle!

And now for the First Look. I LOVE it when couples choose to do this on their wedding day. Look at Nate waiting in anticipation for his bride.

Katie was beaming!

Favorite reaction ever. Katie didn’t even get all situated before Nate couldn’t take it anymore and had to see her.
I love the next series of shots.

They have such a real love for one another. It is absolutely contagious.
